The city police on Sunday night allegedly killed two people in the middle of a ceremony in Nawaz Sharif Colony.
According to eyewitnesses, a police squad raided a ceremony and started beating up a man. Startled by the brutality of the police, other attendees at the event intervened to save the man from torture, as blows from gunstocks had already injured him seriously. The cops opened fire, which killed two people on the spot, the eyewitnesses said. The firing left three persons injured, including a three-year-old. This savagery mobilized an angry mob, which swooped on the feral cops, who fearing a possible lynching, managed to flee leaving their weapons as well as motorcycles behind.
