An air-show will be held at Minar-e-Pakistan on August 14 – The Independence Day .Students of various schools will appear in the getup of national heroes. Besides strict security arrangements, 400 national volunteers along with police officials will perform duties on this occasion, Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said during a censor rehearsal held in connection with celebrations. Mashhood especially witnessed the rehearsal of small aeroplanes flying from Ring Road and landing at Minar-e-Pakistan. Pakistani flags will be hoisted on these aeroplanes, which after flying an hour, will land at the centre of Minar-e-Pakistan. Students will also present plays dressed as Quaid-e-Azam, Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah and Allama Iqbal. Lahore DCO Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, Sports DG Usman Anwer, Additional Commissioner Dr. Usman, Deputy Secretary Information Tahir Raza Hamdani and senior officers of Police, Traffic and Special Branch were also present on this occasion. Rana Mashhood ordered for making special arrangements for traffic, security and parking on August 14. The pictorial exhibition of national heroes will also be exhibited on the same day. He also directed officers to make special arrangements of ‘Iftari’ for the 5000 attendees of the event and also proper sanitation arrangements to be made. He also directed DG sports that such programmes should be made a permanent feature of Punjab Youth Sports Festival.
