Violence claims four lives

At least four persons including a political activist were killed in incidents of violence in the city on Saturday. A man’s body bearing torture marks was recovered from near the Kakri Ground in the city’s Kharadar area. Moreover, one person was killed in an incident of firing in Karachi’s Qasba Colony.
In another incident in New Karachi’s Sector 5-G, gunmen shot and wounded two activists of a political party. One of the activists succumbed to injuries and the other was reported to be in a critical condition.
In another incident, gunmen shot dead one person in the city’s Soldier Bazaar neighbourhood. Furthermore, two persons were wounded in incidents of shooting in Karachi’s Mehmoodabad and Bhimpura areas.
Three killed in marriage feud
At least three persons were killed in exchange of fire over marriage feud here on Saturday. According to SHO Doulatpur Raja Naveed, a youngster of Patteywali community arranged love marriage with Lakhu community in Doulatpur area of Nawabshah some three months earlier.
The in-laws killed the bridegroom for marrying with girl of their community without taking her family into confidence few days after the wedding. On Friday morning, armed men of both groups traded fire over the same issue during which three persons from both sides were killed.
Heavy contingent of police has been deployed in the area to control the situation but still the dwellers are in the grip of fear and uncertainty. A case has been registered against armed men of both groups and investigations have been initiated.
