Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Syed Munawar Hassan on Saturday said that the Pakistan People’s Party-led government would not sacrifice its second Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf. Talking to journalists of Okara Press Club, he said that the government would soon announce the date for holding general elections in the country. The JI chief said that the coalition government was facing an uncertain situation because of disunity among its ranks. He said that President Asif Ali Zardari had never devised a strategy for its party, adding that the conflict between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is a source of entertainment for the people who can clearly see that their own internal matters are unresolved. He said that despite internal conflicts, PTI and PML-N are still hoping to contest in the elections and win. Furthermore, he said that it was not the job of the ruling parties to convene an All Parties Conference (APC). He said the opposition parties call the APC while the rulers implement its recommendations.
