Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah stated on Thursday that the government was seeking cooperation of religious scholars from all schools of thought to ensure the security on Youm-e-Ali (R.A.). Law enforcement agencies had been directed to stay vigilant in order to avoid any untoward incident.
He said this during a meeting with Shia clerics ahead of Youm-e-Ali (R.A.).
Sanaullah urged people to maintain unity of ranks on this day.
He said that security officials had been put on high alert for the occasion throughout the province. He also said that fool proof security plans were put in place and large contingents of police were deputed at mosques and imam bargahs.
The Shia clerics expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements made for Youm-e-Ali (R.A.) and thanked the provincial government.
