The spell of violence continued unmitigated in the metropolis where on Wednesday three tortured bodies were recovered from Pak Colony and Dhobi Ghat areas.
According to the police, limb-tied bodies of two young men were recovered from Lyari River and Dhobi Ghat in the precincts of Pak Colony police station. Police suspected that the deceased were tortured to death.
A throat-slit body of an eight year child Abdul Qadir was recovered from Baldia Town’s Daud Goth. The deceased had come out of his house to play but went missing yesterday.
The police arrested a member of the Lyari gang during a raid at Hawks bay road in Maripur area. The accused, identified as Syed Pathan, admitted that he had killed 40 persons in cold blood. The police also recovered a repeater, one 7mm and a pistol from his possession.
Meanwhile, on a tip off regarding presence of notorious criminals, police conducted targeted operations in various areas of Pak Colony but no arrests could be made. In another incident, an over speeded truck trampled a motor biker near Five-Star Chowrangi in North Nazimabad, where the enraged people set the truck ablaze. Police said the driver escaped the scene.
