The air-conditioning system at paediatric and neo-natal ward of a leading hospital of Rawalpindi, Holy Family Hospital, has been out of order for many days, posing serious health risks to newborns and children. According to details, air-conditioning system of Holy Family Paediatric and Neonatal ward has not been working for many weeks, but no effort has been made by the hospital administration to solve the problem. This is risking health of newborns and children due to hot and humid conditions. Doctors as well as parents have also complained many times to the administration, but to no avail.
On the other hand, the Holy Family administration is of the opinion that the AC machinery at the hospital, especially at the Children Ward and Nursery, has become obsolete, but due to lack of funds, it could not be revamped.
The parents have demanded Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to look into the matter and take measures for its immediate rectification.
