Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lt General Zaheerul Islam has left for Washington to hold talks with his CIA counterpart David Petraeus, the first meeting between the spy chiefs amidst persisting tension between the two countries. The ISI chief would hold talks in Washington on August 1-3 with his CIA counterpart, a military statement said. US drone strikes in Pakistan are expected to be a major issue. “This will be a service-to-service bilateral visit,” the statement said. The short statement gave no other details, but a senior Pakistani security official earlier said that the chiefs of the two spy agencies would discuss counter-terror cooperation and intelligence sharing. During his visit, General Islam would also demand an end to US drone attacks on Pakistani territory, a security official said.

  1. Drone strikes will go on just as load shedding will go on. Nothing will happen in this meeting of spy chiefs. As long as Pakistan is begging US for money, they should accept the fact that they are a weaker nation and the whole world will treat them with contempt. Its just a free trip for ISI people to travel all over the world in first class, eat, drink and patry. What has ever come out of the thousands of trips politicians have taken in the last five years? Nothing!!!

  2. I fear that this meeting would again be a failure on the part of Pakistan. Dron attacks are not going to end till the completion of US malafide intentions. We haven't observed any decision in favor of Pakistan after the meetings held between US and Pakistan counterparts in Pakistan and how can we expect that this time Pakistan would get benefit out of it.
