A 65 year old teacher had been made to run from pillar to post to collect his pension despite a lapse of almost 16 years. Former Principal POF Science Collage Wah (presently F.G. Science Collage) Qazi Arif Hussain said that he was appointed at the POF Sir Syed Collage Wah Cantt as a teacher in 1981.
The college was run under the Sir Syed Educational Society, which functioned under the POF Board. The president and secretary of the society at that time were senior government officials. At the time of his appointment the college administration told him that even though POF looks after the affairs of Sir Syed Educational Society but the college is a private institution and has nothing to do with government pay scales. He accepted the job and after teaching for some years, became a popular figure among his colleagues and students. Eventually he was elected as President Teachers Welfare Association which was a registered organization.
With his efforts as the President of the Association, government pay scales were implemented in the college, He lobbied on the behalf of teachers, a move that was frowned upon by the POF as well as college management, due to which he was fired from service in 1989, without giving him a single penny
He took the issue to court and after five years of persistent efforts, the court reinstated him, and declared his termination null and void, but the administration of POF including the Chairman refused to obey court orders.
He then contacted the court who after due deliberation ordered POF to take Qazi Arif Hussain on the active strength of the college. They accepted him and he was transferred to POF College Sanjwal, as a Principal at grade BPS-19 in 1996. In the meantime his period of termination was to be accepted as regular service by the administration.
After some time, he was transferred again to POF Science Collage Wah as a Principal, but was not given an office as POF management gave six months immunity to his predecessor.
He was pressurized, by registering fake FIRs against him. The college administration also confiscated hundreds of his personal books and other valuables kept in the college.
He opted for pre-mature retirement after completing his qualifying service of 20 years as prescribed in the rules, but received a letter from POF management stating that his resignation had been accepted whereas he had opted for a retirement. He had to take the matter to court, where the case is still pending. A presiding judge summoned the POF chairperson to court and was transferred as a result. He has asked the concerned authorities to grant him his right to pension so he could lead his remaining life in peace.

  1. If you are among the thousands of college students that have trouble writing all those essays, research reports and other assignments, you are not alone. It is estimated that three out of four college students struggles with their research assignments, not because of the research, but the writing.
