Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KW&SB) with the help of police on Saturday recovered 50 acres of land allocated for the S-III project in Maripur area in an operation against land grabbers and registered an FIR against them at the police station.
On the directives of Sindh governor, the KWSB team, anti-encroachment department officials and more than 200 police personnel raided the spot with heavy machinery and razed illegally constructed walls, however, the land grabbers managed to flee the scene, said KWSB statement.
KWSB MD Misbah Fariduddin directed the concerned chief engineer to ensure establishment of permanent police check-post at the land so that any incident of encroachment may not occur in future. A total of 100 acres of land has been allocated for S-III Project by KWSB in Maripur.
