A man fell unconscious in the courtroom of Justice Manzoor Malik of the Lahore High Court on Friday when his daughter told the court that her father had registered a fake kidnapping case against a man she had married by choice. Nagina told the court that her father Munir Ahmed had registered a false case against her husband Ijaz Ahmed because the couple had married against his wish. She requested the court to annul the FIR registered against her husband. When Nagina was recording her statement, Munir Ahmed fainted in the courtroom and had to be taken outside for first aid. The court later set the hearing for next week while Nagina and her husband left the premises in police security.
Now were this woman from a favored minority community, upper class Mulhideen would rally around the father, vilify the husband and demand that the adult woman is handed back to her father.
