Senior Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister, Senator Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa said that a large number of citizens are benefiting from the availability of daily use items at subsidized rates.
He expressed these views while talking to media representatives after visiting Ramadan Bazaars in Pattoki, Renala Khurd, Okara and Sahiwal.
He said that the monitoring system ensuring quality and prices is being strengthened to bring about further improvement, as 322 Ramazan Bazaars have been set up in nine divisions of the province.
He was accompanied by the Provincial Minister Zakat and Ushr Malik Nadeem Kamran, concerned public representatives, Secretary Food, Director Industries, concerned DCOs and police authorities.
Khosa said that fair-price shops set up in all Ramadan Bazaars throughout the province are providing an effective relief to the masses, while the system for monitoring the quality of daily use items and their prices is being further strengthened.
He said that the Punjab government is providing fruits, vegetables and rice on wholesale prices while gram pulses and gram flour are being sold at subsidized rates to citizens.
Khosa expressed satisfaction over effective arrangements at Ramadan Bazaars in Sahiwal and said that all Ramadan Bazaars in various districts of Punjab ought to follow the example of the bazaar at Sahiwal.
He appreciated the duty officer present at the occasion and checked the weight of packets of flour, sugar, rice, gram pulse and gram flour available at the Ramadan Bazaars. He said that a helpline had been set up for citizens to register complaints in case of profiteering, hoarding, substandard quality, discrepancies in weight, unavailability of daily use items or unpleasant attitudes of shopkeepers at Ramadan Bazaars.
He said while the general public has expressed satisfaction over the availability of daily use items at subsidized rates in Ramadan Bazaars, they have strongly protested against load-shedding occurring at the time of Sehari and Iftar.

  1. Yes, only "Khosa" may impress with these "efficient" Ramazan Bazaars.
Khota would have kicked back these Bazaars.
