District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noor ul Amin Mengal on Thursday said that the City District Government should shoulder the responsibility for ensuring provision of quality and low prices at Ramadan Bazaars.
While presiding over a meeting held at Town Hall to review Ramadan Bazaars in the city, he ordered the assistant commissioner to close down mills which have been providing substandard or underweight flour to Ramadan Bazaars.
He asked officers to play a proactive role in checking cold storages and ensuring that prices of fruits and vegetables are lowered.
Mengal also paid a surprise visit to Raiwind Ramadan
Bazaar and expressed his satisfaction over prices and quality of the commodities.
