Top officials hold meeting over law and order situation

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah today presided over a high-level law and order meeting today at Chief Minister’s House. The meeting was attended among others by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Syed Sohail Akbar Shah, IG Police Fayaz Leghari, Principal Secretary to CM Muhammad Siddique Memon and Deputy DG Rangers Brig Muhammad Rafique Khan, Commander ISI, Commander MI, Joint Director IB, Additional IG Police Karachi Iqbal Mehmood, Commissioner Karachi Mr Roshan Ali Shaikh, Additional IG Special Branch, DIG’s of Police East, West, South, Deputy Commissioners of Karachi (all) and others.
He expressed his concern that the criminal activities had increased in the Holy month of Ramadan, and said, it was joint responsibility of police, Rangers and all law enforcement agencies to make prompt, concerted and coordinated efforts to combat the situation and criminals. He further stressed that peaceful atmosphere must be restored at all costs, patrolling of police and Rangers be enhanced and prompt security measures be evolved at all markets, commercial areas and trade centers. Shah directed all DIG’s of Police and SSP’s to send him progress report daily with perspective to criminal activities. He said various criminal incidents should be timely reported to him so as to take effective decisions well in time. The chief minister added that killing of innocent people was very serious offence and the same must be looked after while the affected areas must be properly monitored.
