Owing to the shortage of basic facilities, including transport and equipment kits used for working on live wires of electricity, the IESCO offices in the capital have failed to discharge their duty. According to information, citizens are forced to give pick-and-drop services to the IESCO’s technical staff to redress electric complaints as there is only one vehicle at the IESCO offices up to 3pm during the first shift timing and it is uphill task to redress more than one complaint at the same time by using one vehicle. Moreover, the IESCO’s technical staff is facing immense difficulties while working on live wires of electricity as the department has failed to provide them with electricity working kits like shockproof hand gloves, helmet, belt and other necessary equipment.
