A roadside bomb weighing 20 kilogram was found and diffused by the bomb disposal squad at Safora Chowrangi Friday morning, police authorities said.
According to details, police recovered a bomb weighing 20kg near a private school located at University Road in Safoora Chourangi of Karachi.
The bomb disposal squad was called in which defused the bomb hidden in cement blocks. The bomb contained ball bearings, nut bolts and a remote controlled device attached with it.
Police said the recovered bomb was similar to the explosives devices found in Buffer Zone, Quaidabad and Super Highway during the last couple of weeks. Tension gripped the area after the news of a bomb hit the surroundings. Meanwhile security in the area was beefed up with the deployment of additional police contingents and rangers.
