KARACHI – The WWF-Pakistan and Indus Motors Company held Nature Carnival 2011 at the PAF Museum on Sunday. A large number of people attended the event. “Environment conservation is an effort, which all of us need to undertake together because we are collectively responsible for ensuring that we provide a clean environment to our future generations,” said Federal Natural Resources Minister Naveed Qamar, who was the chief guest at the event.
“We must act as responsible guardians,” he added. Qamar praised schoolchildren for their display of environmental concerns in various exhibits. The Travelling Nature Carnival 2011 was supported by the Indus Motor Company and ‘Indus for All’ programme of the WWF-Pakistan. Indus Motor CEO Pervez Ghias was also present.
He said that his company is pleased to sponsor the event under their Young Ambassador Environment Education Programme and it has been a delightful and learning experience for the company to be a part of the nature carnival. Renowned artist Zia Mohyeddin, the special guest at the event also praised the efforts of the organisers.
