At least six militants were killed in clashes with security forces on Wednesday in Chitral. According to initial reports, the militants were from Afghanistan and had attacked the Gambhir and Arandu security checkposts in Chitral. Six of them were killed when security forces retaliated. The bodies of the militants are still lying in the area. Earlier in April, the general officer commanding in Swat had claimed that the army had successfully repulsed various terrorist attacks on the Pak-Afghan border areas in the Chitral district.
