Former Ambassador Khalid Saleem has said that the visit of Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf to Saudi Arabia will help boost cooperation between the two countries. Talking to Pakistan Television, he said the positive role of Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf states was necessary for a durable peace in the region, following withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan otherwise the situation will remain uncertain. He said cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia can play a positive role in maintaining peace in the region following withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan. He said there is an immense scope of investment in Pakistan, but security situation of the region did not allow it to flourish. It is hoped that after the withdrawal of the foreign forces from Afghanistan, economic cooperation will increase manifold between the two countries, he noted.
Khalid Saeed said Saudi Arabia is in dire need of technical staff. Development of Saudi Arabia has touched its peak and there is no need of labourers, therefore, technical staff is more important for its further progress and prosperity, he stated and added Pakistan should establish technical institutions to further expand cooperation with Saudi Arabia.
