Speaking on the occasion, Javed Miandad said: “Lahore Gymkhana cricket ground, I think, one of the best as well as most beautiful grounds of the world due to its worth and environment. It has also an honour to host international matches in which world’s outstanding cricketers played and they all lauded and appreciated this ground.” Advising the participants of the camp who were of 8 years old to 16 years old, Miandad said: “This was a golden chance for these young cricketers as PCB’s highly qualified coaches trained them and improved their game and skills. They have learnt a lot but the need of the hour is to keep the practice up and continue visiting and playing in the grounds. If a player regularly comes to ground and play consistently, he becomes the star cricketer so obeying their parents and coaches, these children can become future of Pakistan.” It is pertinent to mention here that Gymkhana Club Cricket Summer Camp 2012 was held at Gymkhana Cricket Ground for a one a half month time in which Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) qualified coaches trained the around 150 children of various age categories.
