Vendors, beggars and windscreen cleaners irk drivers on Monday at traffic signals as wardens look the other way.
Windscreen cleaners, mostly girls, start their work without being asked and press for money while vendors try to forcibly sell their products even if someone refuses.
Muhammad Taha, a regular commuter within the city, said whenever he stops at a traffic signal, a group of beggars, flower sellers, screen cleaners and vendors of different products encircle the vehicle and knock on the panes to sell their products. He said people start to clean his screens without his permission and then press for money.
“They clean the screen even if it is already clean and press for money. Some people pay them out of civility,” he added.
Another commuter, Aisha Khan, said whenever she stops at a signal, flower sellers rush towards her and stand in front of her car until she buys them or the signal turns green.
