Khosa vows creation of investment opportunities

LAHORE – Punjab will be transformed into an investment hub, providing a conducive and investment friendly environment. Investors from China, Turkey, Iran and Dubai have already showed interest to invest in Punjab.
This was stated by the Punjab Minister for Industries Dost Muhammad Khosa, while addressing a meeting at the Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) after taking charge of the provincial ministry here on Saturday.
He said that Punjab chief minister was tirelessly working to attract invest in the province. Generation of investment would not only create new jobs but would also provide growth opportunities for small industries locally, he added.
Khosa said that the rate of brain drain was touching an alarming level due to limited growth avenues in the country. The educated youth and skilled workers were rapidly migrating to other countries for better prospects. He said that creation of ample growth opportunities is need of the hour. The government has decided to stimulate the PSIC to play its role in creating such opportunities.
The minister urged that Mianwali, Bakhar, Jhang and Khushab should be included in the less developed and flood affected district. Residents of these districts should be given priority in microfinance schemes. PSIC MD Dr Allah Buksh told the minister that on the direction of the chief minister, mechanical tandoors had been manufactured in collaboration with Belgium, Iran and India.
He pointed out that industrial cluster of Gujranwala took active part in the whole manufacturing process of mechanical tandoors.
