Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran on Sunday visited examination centres at Wahdat Road and Lawrence Road to review facilities being provided to the students appearing in the entry test for BS programme.
The VC lauded the arrangements of the examination staff.
While briefing the vice chancellor, College Principal Prof Dr Mansoor Sarwar said that for the first time in college’s history, as many as 13,129 candidates had applied for admission in the BS programme because of the best IT education being provided to the students in college.
He said 6,000 students took entry test at Wahdat Road Examination Centre while more than 4,000 and 3,000 students appeared at Lawrence Road examination centre in two shifts.
He said generator facility had been managed to provide uninterrupted power to the candidates while water cooler and separate waiting areas for parents had also been arranged. He said because of the best quality education being departed to the students at college, more and more candidates were enthusiastic to take admission and the college had decided to admit another 360 students on merit at its GIS Centre in New Campus.
