On the recommendation of a special committee constituted by National Accountability Bureau Chairman Admiral (r) Fasih Bokhari under the supervision of NAB prosecutor general accountability (PGA) to scrutinise cases against politicians, the NAB chief has signed an application requesting the Accountability Court to reopen three references against the Sharif brothers to contest a quashment petition that was filed by the Sharifs in the Lahore High Court in October 2011.
These references include cases of Hudaibia Paper Mills, assets beyond known sources of income and Ittefaq foundry (wilful loan default). The proceedings on cases against Sharif brothers were adjourned sine-die by the Accountability Court in 2001 when they were in exile. After their return, NAB filed an application for reopening the cases in 2007, which was granted, but these cases were later adjourned sine-die in 2010 by the Accountability Court with the direction that the trial could be commenced if an application signed by the chairman was submitted before the court.
The NAB chairman constituted a special committee to revisit all the cases pending against the politicians. The committee recommended filing an application under the signature of the NAB chairman for recommencement of these cases. The special committee is in the process of scrutinizing the remaining cases relating to the politicians and the findings/recommendations would be shared with the media accordingly.
No personality is supirior over Laws of the state.Whoever is found guilty must be dealt with iron hands.In that corruption can be eliminated at least upto some least level.Corruption is not very common in Politics,but is also very very common in evert walk of our life.Quran majeed and holly Sunnahs are complete code of life and complete guidance,but Allas we have ignored them.now is the time to follow these traditions more effetvely and seriously,otherwise everybody will become corrupted.
