The management of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Tuesday terminated PIA Deputy Managing Director Saleem Siyani, who was allegedly drawing a tax-free salary of $50,000 per month.
According to media reports, the salary package of Siyani was being paid in Dubai, while his income tax was being paid by the PIA. His contract had been signed when Captain Ijaz Haroon was managing director of the PIA in 2009. The deputy managing director had been provided with residences in Karachi as well as in Dubai. The notification of his termination had been also issued. Earlier, the National Assembly’s Sanding Committee on Defence had directed the PIA management to terminate the contract of its deputy managing director. The PIA management also removed Marketing Consultant Haider Jalal.
