Opposing the new contempt of court law passed by the National Assembly, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday said the nation had been divided through the legislation, adding that the law was in violation of the Holy Quran and Hadith. Addressing a press conference flanked by Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Hamid Khan on Tuesday, the PTI chief said the new bill aimed at protecting new Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf. He said the government wanted to provide cover to its members so that they could plunder the national wealth and use it in the next general election. The government wanted its ministers to keep looting the country and the make the court unable to apprehend them, he added. He said the government would make noise on the pretext of democracy being in jeopardy if the court took action against their corruption. Khan said he wanted to tell the courts that they must strike down the “discriminative” law of contempt
of court.
This is what happens when religion gets mixed with state.Using books such as Quran and Hadith for political motives suggest how astute a politician Imran has become.Same as the enlightened men who gave birth to such books.Jinnah must be turning in his grave today.
A religious hard liners' syndicate is working. This syndicate comprises of PTI, DPC, SC and the army. They are using holy books to gain public supprot for paving the way for DPC to takeover, IK is just a pawn in this game.

Imran khan has proved himself a non-serious politician while giving a juggler type statements like he will control over corruption in only 90 days etc. This time he has crossed the limits, such statement has not given even from any religious political personality.
Imran Khan has not commented on the dual nationaltiy bill. There is no doubt he has a red passport and does not want to touch on the subject.

@Do dhaari.Religion is indeed mixed with state in India but,to a lesser extent.Thank God Gandhi didn’t play a role in building the constitution.Neither did he insist on making India a Hindu nation.Thats a different(and old) story though.The jokeresque statement made by Imran merely suggest he thinks emotions can be played upon,by invoking religion.Their,he is right.Despite being wrong otherwise.Therein lies the problem.It’s a do-dhaari talwaar.:)

… The problem comes when you use religion selectively for political purposes. In Islamic state the judges are appointed and fired by the head of state and you have to pledge allegiance to the head of state and governors. Is Imran ready to obey Zardari who is I'll-al-amar of the time?
What’s wrong with judging things by a value system we are supposed to live by in our daily lives? It teaches us morality and to discern right from wrong.

he has no corruption record at all,,so better than all those who he criticises- so what is wrong? he wants a fair justice system and politics,,,it is not important to be perfect at all sides and aspects of life….

Imran is right. From a Sharia law and English Common Law stand point, their can be no discrimination or favouritism before the law.
If the NA tomorrow made murder by a sitting PM, President or Chief minister 'legal' would it be legal morally? Of course not!
