The first monsoon shower hit various cities of the country on early Saturday morning bringing relief to the people from blistering summer heat.
According to the Pakistan Metrological Department, rain occurred in upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The maximum amount of rainfall during the last 12 hours was recorded at 51mm in Saidu Sharif, reported a private news channel.
The metrological department has predicted generally cloudy sky along with chances of light rain and thundershower during next 24 hours, however, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the Sindh. Rainfall in other areas was recorded as: 48mm in Jehlum, Rawalpindi 44mm, Mangla 43mm, Rawalakot 35mm, Islamabad 29mm, Murree 26mm, Gujranwala 16mm, Muzaffarabad 13mm, Abbatabad 11mm, Kotli & Kohat 08mm and Mandi Bahauddin 07 mm.
