An emergency meeting of Pakistan Medical Association Centre was held at PMA House Karachi on Wednesday. Prof Dr Tipu sultan presided the meeting. It was attended by Dr Mirza Ali Azhar, Dr Qaisar Sajjad, Dr Idrees Adhi, Dr Qazi Wasiq, strongly condemned the Punjab government officials who claim to be Khadim-e-ala, for raiding the houses and arresting the doctors, who are fighting for their legitimate rights like service structures and timescale promotions.
PMA office bearers have taken a very serious notice of this un-fortunate situation which is against the norms of any civilized country of the world.
The meeting appealed from the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Governor Punjab Mr. Latif Khosa, to act immediately to defuse the situation and alleviate the unrest and fear which the doctor’s community is going through. If the situation is allowed to persist and doctors are pushed against the wall then nobody can stop them to take the extreme measures.
