600 Afghan students to get higher education scholarships

The Government of Pakistan has offered 600 scholarships for the Afghan students to study in different disciplines in the prominent educational institutions of Pakistan for the current academic year, 2012-2013.
According to a statement issued here from Kabul, Pakistan has been offering fully-funded scholarships since 2009 under `The Prime Minister of Pakistan’s 2000 Scholarships Scheme for Afghan Students’ and nearly 1500 Afghan students are already benefiting from this scheme. The objective to start this scheme is to promote education in Afghanistan, people to people contact between the two neighboring countries.
In this regard, the Embassy of Pakistan held a written test on Saturday and the successful candidates would be able to benefit from the scheme to study in the professional colleges and universities of Pakistan.
All the expenses including tuition fee, boarding and lodging, traveling to and from Afghanistan will be born by the Government of Pakistan.
It may be mentioned that over 30,000 Afghan nationals have graduated from Pakistan Universities and Professional colleges in the last three decades and playing now active role in the reconstruction and socio-economic development of their country.
Keeping in view the vital educational requirements of Afghanistan, the government offered the scholarships to Afghan students in the fields of Medicine, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, Natural Sciences and Teaching. Government of Pakistan has also planned to increase the number of scholarships for Afghan students in the coming years.

thanks from the govt of pak have you specify seats for afghan refugees in paks. there is too much problem by verifying having pakistani certificates in afghanistan

pakistan government must focus on the country students .not the afghan students, because pakistan is not rich country. 600 scholarships must be given to the pakistan students.

  Actually Pakistan does give its own people scholarships. I am British and have a friend who studies in Oxford University with a pakistani scholarship. And there's plenty more pakistani students too. As for the afghan refugees its brilliant that the Pakistan government is giving them scholarships.

mr.umar is right. all officer in pakistan are corrupt. they do not help afghans.pakistan govt. is only fooling afghan students and international govt.
