AG asks NAB to open inquiry into Arslan Iftikhar case

Attorney General of Pakistan Irfan Qadir has written a letter to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman, suggesting him to open an inquiry into Dr Arsalan Iftikhar case. In a letter to NAB Chief Fasih Bokhari on Wednesday, the attorney general said a transparent inquiry into Arsalan Iftikhar scandal should be ensured per the ruling of the Supreme Court. He said he should exercise his power under the NAB Ordinance to launch the inquiry. The letter said a joint team of NAB, FIA and Islamabad Police should be formed if necessary. Competent and honest officers should be named in the probe team, it added.
