Eminent cardiac surgeon Dr Raheel Hussain has expressed his confidence to establish an advanced institute of heart surgery in Liaquat University Hospital with facility of free of cost open heart surgery to needy and deserving cardiac patients.
Surgeon Raheel Hussain, the resident of Hyderabad and nephew of renowned Surgeon Adeeb Rizvi, has expressed such confidence at a reception hosted in honour by the office bearers of Hyderabad Press Club here on Monday.
Surgeon Raheel Hussain who served in Karachi as cardiac surgeon since long and recently associated with Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences(LUMHS) Jamshoro said required surgical equipments are available in Liaquat University Hospital, but there is a need of state of the art operation theatre for cardiac surgery with recovery room and cardiac care unit so that the surgeon could carry out cardiac operation in a suitable atmosphere.
Besides no intensive care unit (ICU) has been provided in the four stories cardiac building of the hospital, he said and added that operation theatre with recovery room, cardiac care unit and intensive care unit are essential for undergoing cardiac surgery.
He hoped that Sindh government as well as the management of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences and Liaquat University Hospital will extend full cooperation in providing facilities for converting the cardiac building of the hospital into an advanced cardiac care centre.
