Anti-load shedding protests continued in various parts of Punjab including Faisalabad‚ Khanewal‚ Burewala‚ Okara‚ Sheikhupura‚ Hafizabad‚ Rawalpindi‚ Jhelum and Sargodha on Monday.
According to the details, the protesters ransacked WAPDA offices in different cities and attacked different government offices.
Meanwhile‚ a group of protesters attacked the home of Chairman ERRA and Special Assistant to Prime Minister‚ Hamidyar Hiraj in Khanewal.
The guards at the residence opened fire on the protesters in which three persons were injured while one succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
In Faisalabad, hundreds of protesters, carrying sticks and stones in hands, vandalized banks, shops and looting goods from a commercial plaza at Jaranwala road of the city.
The angry protestors, most of them powerloom workers, also pelted stones at vehicles, damaging public and private properties against unscheduled load-shedding.
Initially, police parties played role as silent spectators, allowing the protestors to freely go on rampage, however, extra contingents were later called who repulsed the mob by restoring to tear-gas shelling, arresting dozens of people.
Earlier, in the fresh anti-loadshedding protest, hundreds of people marched on roads and chanted slogans against government authorities.
They called for an end to the 22-hours-long power cuts which have severely affected industries, businesses and the daily life at times when mercury has gone up at extreme proportion.
Punjab law minister, Rana Sanaullha, while talking to a private TV channel on Monday, condemned the load-shedding and held federal government responsible for power crises.
He said the number of power protestors might turn into thousands if force was used against them and the problem was remained unresolved.

  1. why the heck do they damage public property and loot their our fellow men? This is ridiculous… better take out their anger towards government officials rather than public as they are too dealing with the same problems. Shoot those idiots on the spot who destroys public property.
