Intikhab Alam, PCB’s Director International Cricket, has pointed out two potential venues for the hosting of the Pakistan’s home series against Australia later this year. Talking to journalists here at the Gaddafi Stadium, Intikhab also urged the Punjab government to let the security wall of the PCB be constructed to help get the international cricket back to Pakistan. “It is the security which is of paramount importance and the international teams are reluctant to come over to Pakistan under such an insecure condition where headquarter of the Pakistan cricket is not secure,” he maintained. “The demolished wall of the PCB is transmitting a negative impression of the country and it should be solved within the security parameters,” he added. He further stated that he had visited UAE and Malaysia and both the conditions and the wickets in these two countries are the same. “We would keep in mind several factors before taking the final decision on the selection of the venue,” he added. Intikhab further said that it is the prime effort of PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf that international cricket should return to Pakistan at the earliest and the issues of PCB security wall is one of those factors which would stall the revival of international cricket to Pakistan. “The wall is being constructed as laid out by the ICC security protocol. Even on my visit to several venues I was questioned about the wall demolition that you are trying to revival international cricket and the security wall is being brought down again and again so how the PCB would invite international teams to Pakistan,” he stressed. On a question regarding the bowling coach, Intikhab said that they have received a couple of more applications for the bowling coach job and some of them are even level four coaches. “Being level four coach means that he has a complete knowledge of bio mechanics,” said he. He further added that the PCB is also conducting level four coaching course in in July collaboration with the Australian cricket. On Wasim Akram, he said that the Pakistan cricket team is in Sri Lanka but an emerging cricketers camp of about 20 to 22 boys is being held in the near future and he would be approached by the board then.
