Islamabad Bar Association (IBA) applauded on Wednesday the Islamabad High Court (IHC) chief justice for awarding 5-year age relaxation for the appointments of judicial officials.
In a joint meeting of Islamabad District Court Bar Association (IDCBA) and Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) appreciated Chief Justice Iqbal Hameed-ur-Rehman for giving relaxation of five years for the appointments on the posts of civil judge-cum-magistrates on humanitarian grounds.
IHCBA General Secretary Chaudhry Junaid Akhtar Chohan, while speaking on the occasion, said that he was heartily grateful to the chief justice for giving age leverage in judicial officers’ appointments. He further said that IBA always stood with judiciary in all circumstances and it would not allow any state or non-state machinery to hatch any conspiracy against the apex court. IHCBA President Syed Nayab Hassan Gardezi also thanked IHC for its positive response on the appeal of lawyers’ community for seeking age relaxation. He stated that he had no words to praise concerned authorities but will ensure to have full cooperation with judiciary at any stage of life. Commenting over the issue of real estate tycoon Msalik Riaz Hussain’s allegations against Arsalan Iftikhar, he said if the latter was found guilty, he would be penalized by the Supreme Court without any reservation. However, he said that it would not permit any one to scandalise the chief justice of Supreme Court at any cost. In the meeting, IBA showed full confidence in its leadership and the judiciary.
