Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Tuesday reiterated its commitment to renew efforts to end child labour and child exploitation in all its forms.
Central Coordinator PPP Human Rights Cell Dr Nafisa Shah said this in a statement on the World Day against Child Labour which was observed under the theme ‘Human Rights and Social Justice, Let us End Child Labour.’ She underlined the need to ensure an effective mechanism to enforce the existing laws to protect children against child labour.
She added Pakistan People’s Party will continue its efforts to end child Labour, adding Pakistan has passed a number of laws to prevent child labour. She lamented millions of children continue to live and work in the world where they are subjected to exploitation. The situation is compounded by Pakistan’s immense suffering in the recent natural disasters, where thousands have been rendered homeless, she added.
