Children with disabilities presented a colorful show to share their experiences in terms of facing social attitudes towards them through expressions of performing art.
Initiative for Raising Awareness, Development and Assimilation of Handicapped (IRADAH) arranged the show entitled ‘An Evening with Persons with Disabilities’ at National Institute of Special Education (NISE). The special children studying at IRADAH School for Deaf Children presented a tableau, while others shared their achievements and issues they face in everyday life. T
They told the audience what they expected from the society in general. An Auction was also held on the occasion in which various products made by persons with disabilities were auctioned, said a news release issued on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mustafain Kazmi, director general, special education, said that his department was holding consultations with civil society organisations and persons with disabilities to develop a comprehensive policy for addressing the issues faced by persons with disabilities.
