‘Three questions for Justice Chaudhry’

Real estate tycoon Malik Riaz Hussain on Tuesday dug deep into his pockets to present evidence against Dr Arsalan Iftikhar, the son of the Chief Justice of Pakistan, in the Supreme Court, coupled with putting up three crucial questions for Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and demanding answers from the top judge of the country.
At a crowded press conference following the hearing of the suo motu case, Malik Riaz held a copy of the Holy Quran in his hand, saying the apex court had denied him justice whenever he sought it.
During the press conference, the copies of the 84-page statement submitted to the SC by Malik Riaz were shared with the media, but no additional evidence was provided.
Riaz made several attacks against the CJP and superior judiciary during his press interaction and also made contradictory claims.
At one time, he said he respected the CJP a lot, but later claimed that a Sessions judge had initiated an inquiry against him on the CJP’s behest. He also claimed that even the Federal Investigation Agency had also been directed to implicate him in a murder case.
In an emotional tone, Malik Riaz went on to claim that the superior “judiciary is hostage to a don” – who he said was not the CJP, but his son Arsalan Iftikhar.
Posing his questions, Malik Riaz said, “The chief justice should tell how many meetings he (CJP) held with him in the darkness of the night in presence of Arsalan Iftikhar and even the SC registrar. He should also tell how many meetings he had held with the prime minister at the residence of Ahmed Khalil in presence of a sitting judge of the Supreme Court. He should also tell for how long had he known about his son’s deeds and why did he not take a suo motu notice earlier.”
“Why did the CJP take suo motu notice only when the story was revealed by journalists,” he asserted.
He said a common friend had also conveyed to the CJP the truth about Arsalan’s blackmailing, but alleged that the CJP refused to even see the documents possessed by him.
He said like several businessmen, he had also been blackmailed by Arsalan.
To a question whether he had bribed Arsalan, Malik Riaz said he did not bribe anyone, rather he was being blackmailed.
To another query whether he wanted a reference be filed against the CJP, he said he would not become a tool for anyone and he had lot of respect for Justice Chaudhry.
He also rubbished the notion of political motives behind his allegations, saying President Asif Ali Zardari had in fact asked him not to go public with the issue.
Raiz said he had been making efforts for continuity of the democratic system for the last six months and he also wanted not to lose his credibility.
He alleged that cases were registered against Bahria Town and the lower judiciary was pressurized and dictated to victimise him and his business.
Riaz said he had only revealed the facts as he did not want to be blackmailed anymore. He said if Bahria Town was victimized, the apex court would be responsible.
“I am ready to go jail, even ready to die. I don’t owe anyone even a single penny…” Riaz said, adding that he would drop another “bomb” in a press conference in a few days.
He avoided a question that asked him the number of journalists on his payroll.

  1. It would be honorable, if, without prejudice, the CJP now takes a voluntary administrative leave (until the case is disposed) …

The principle to follow is: a CJP (and individual) is not bigger than the SC (an Institution) …
    .

  2. ;LIAR-HE WAS BLA,CKMALED WHO BLACNMAILS THE WORLD.HE IS DOING IT TO PROTECT his mentor zardari.

    • Blackmail for what? Was Riaz doing something illegal to be blackmailed? The only people that get blackmailed are the ones who are doing something illegal and don't want the public to know. What was Riaz doing?

  3. I have only one question not 03. Pakistani Law says -No one is elible for any government office if he spends one day in Jail.

Today All the TOP Pakistani leadership have the honor of going to Jail (record in history)

So where is the courts of pakistan; ISI, Election commission ? Who is making Laws & for whom?

    • No law says this. There have been Prime Ministers in the past who hv spent years in jail. Liaqat Ali Khan, Jatoi, Maraj Khalid, Indira Gandhi in India, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Benazir, and when Gilani began PMship he already spent 5 yrs in jail.

  4. Time for iftikhar to resign and have impartial probe of the allegations levelled against his son and the family. With him as the CJ you cant have impartiallity at supreme court.

    • I totally agree with you. No more tensions in the system. We already are sidelined on international level.

  5. What rubbish. The only thing that CJ can be blamed for is carelessness towards not being a strict father, that's it. IF he was giving money to Arsalan to get cases ruled in his favor yet by his own admission he never got relief from the SC, it only means CJ is not involved. What a fraud this idiot is. Why was he holding the Quran? You only hold Quran when you make a startling revelation. He instead was holding the Quran and asking questions!!! In the court he says he respects CJ, the moment he steps out he starts pointing fingers at him!!! What charlatan

    • In fact the CJ claims to be the honest ma on earth. Except him, rest of the family is part of the scoiety whom the CJ should have been also proud of.

  6. Chohdri saab Answer the Nation. Its demn of Allah on you, because you have been apathetic to target killing of Innocent Hazara in Quetta. It was your duty to take action against the government but you did'nt. Its just start, eventually People chitrol you , Asif ghaddari,(2 No shah gilani)…and all cabinate. tum sab per khuda ki laanat.

  7. i guess this press conference has cost Malik sahib PKR 10 Crore. Buying so much prime time on so many channels could never come cheap! Plus, all those Bharia town ads should help keeping the media on his side! I wish moresuch scandals for Javed Chaudhary, Hamid Mire & all these symbols of "free" speech should appear on the surface! These "angles" and crusaders also have so much fishy stuff around them that they have been pushing under teh carpet since long!

  8. who is trapped???Propaganda became a trap for all.Blackmailing ended in legal trap.

  9. "High Moral Ground" – was the lecture beamed by the "Gairyat Brigade" – did someone asked them What is their stand now ? CJ you better go home with whatever respect left – Oh yes, you can join PTI and am sure you will be elected even if you contested from Mianwali seat of IK – also chances are PTI chief will award a party ticket to Dr. Irsalan too.

  10. I fail to get it! Malik Riaz, the rise from rags to riches, has all the right to turn himself into a billionaire by using every hook & crook method to climb the ladder be it bribing politicians, generals or journalists! It was Malik Riaz who, perhaps, being the biggest Qabza group in Pakistan, occupied the plots of so many orphans and widows by force and brought tremendous losses to middle class people around! But when Arslan Iftikahr, a middle class aspiring lad, saw the same dream of be-frauding another don to become a don himself, he is considered an abberation! This is the Jiala dilemma in our country! So the Jialas have the blank cheque to do all types of corruption, the generals has that, the lower class Maiik Riaz-types have that but whenever some middle class engineer, doctor, judge, lawyer, student or teenager will vie to treat the system with it's own medicine, he/she will be trated liek a rascal! Only Jialas, Generals, Journalsits have the right to corruption!
