Four killed in violence; police arrest 4 criminals

In the unending wave of murders, at least four persons were killed and several others including women were injured in different localities of the city on Sunday.
According to police, unknown gunmen shot dead an activist of a political party identified as Sohail, 30, in PIB Colony. Violence erupted in the area after killing and the enraged protestors torched three vehicles in reaction to express their outrage.
In Golimar area armed men shot dead on person identified as Zubair, 24. |His body was shifted to hospital for postmortem.
In yet another incident of firing at Maripur Road, one person whose identity has not been ascertained was killed.
Muhammad Anwar, 25, who was injured in firing of unknown miscreants in Pakistan Chowk area, expired in hospital during treatment.
Two including a woman were injured when unknown armed men opened fire at them in Qasba Colony.
In Malir City, robbers shot at and injured 38-year old Sadaqat upon resistance during robbery attempt in a bakery.
Four persons including two women and a young girl were injured in separate firing incidents in Pirabad, Baldia Town, Murid Goth and Orangi areas
Meanwhile, the police arrested four outlaws involved in street crimes, mobiles and purse snatching and other crimes during separate raids in Haidri and Taimuria areas. The police claimed to have recovered four TT Pistols, snatched motorcycles, ladies purses, four mobile phones, credit cards and ATM cards from the possession of the detainees.
SEVERAL VEHICLES SET ABLAZE, KESC OFFICES RANSACKED: Karachities staged violent protests against prolonged and unscheduled loadshedding, water shortages and lawlessness in the city on Sunday.
It should be mentioned that several areas of Karachi city including Chakra Goth, Korangi and adjoining areas were facing worse power crisis and water shortage besides poor law and order situation for the past few days.
Hundreds of citizens annoyed over unfavourable situation took to streets on Sunday to lodge their protest against the lack of basic facilities.
The enraged protestors set ablaze several vehicles and pelted stones damaging various vehicles. The violent protestors also ransacked a KESC office.
In Korangi area electricity supply remained suspended for the last one week. The residents took to streets and burnt a truck. Police fired in the air to disperse the protesters. In FC Area the protesters ransacked a KESC office, destroyed the office furniture and set two vehicles on fire. Protesting people in Liaqatabad burnt a truck and rickshaw and also clashed with police in the area.
Law, order situation to be maintained in Sindh: Minister: Sindh Minister for Law and Prison Mohammed Ayaz Soomro assured that the law and order situation will be maintained to overcome the criminal activities in the province.
Addressing a high-level meeting of police officers at Circuit House, Larkana, he said the Sindh government will provide all basic facilities to police and allocated budget to curb the criminal activities in Larkana and other parts.
He said the police stations of Naduero and others will be repaired and 0.5 million have been fixed for the arms and ammunition repair present budget. He also told that APC, walky talky, arms and other necessary items will be provided to the Larkana and the vacancies of DSP will be filled soon.
He also said the flag march should be ensure in the educational institutions and the offices, buildings will be developed as well five ambulances will also be provided to the Sindh police in Larkana district to make this district a model in Sindh.
On the occasion, Law Minister directed the officials concerned among Deputy Commissioner, Law Officer, SSP, Jail Superintendent should coordinate and a committee constitute to meet the session Judges for proper resolutions of matters.
Law Minister Mohammed Ayaz Soomro also attended the oath taking ceremony of Peoples Lawyers Forum, where new office bearers administered oath and pledged to continue their struggle for the lawyers’ community.
On the occasion, Law Minister said present government faith on Judiciary and confident that they all will resolve the issues along with new body members.
