Chairman and CEO of PIA Air Chief Marshal (Retd) Rao Qamar Suleman on Thursday inaugurated a two-day marketing conference here.
The moot is being participated by PIA Station Heads, Cargo Managers and members of the Sales and Marketing teams working throughout the country and abroad, a spokesman of the Airline said. On the occasion of PIA Marketing Conference 2012, a marketing initiative of PIA `Fori ticket’ in collaboration with Tameer Microfinance Bank Limited (TMBL) and Telenor Easy Paisa was also launched which will enable people living in the remote part of the country to book their seats at PIA Call Center, make payments through 18,000 plus easy paisa outlets throughout Pakistan and get the printout of the ticket from their home computers, offices and PIA Service counters at airports.
The Marketing Conference 2012 will have six working sessions during which Revenue performance and Divisional performance will be overviewed and presentations would be made by Country Managers. Chairman and CEO PIA, Air Chief Marshal (Retd) Rao Qamar Suleman said that the simple turn-around strategy for PIA is to increase revenues and reduce expenses. Focus must be laid on Safe Engineering Practices, Aircraft Maintenance and better Customer Services.
While serving customers with a smile, the airline would earn customer loyalty. PIA employees should extend maximum courtesy and make all its customers feel like VVIPs. PIA Chairman and CEO said that living in the age of Information Technology it has become easier to reduce cost of operations and “Fori Ticket” service is one initiative of PIA with the help of Tameer Microfinance Bank and Telenor Easy Paisa that the service to our customers can be provided at their door step without incurring any infrastructure costs.
He thanked President and CEO of Tameer Microfinance Bank, Nadeem Hussain, Country President Abacus, and the team of Easy Paisa on the launch of the service beginning June 7, 2012.
The first ticket was processed through Easy Paisa on the occasion and was booked for Nadeem Hussain on Islamabad-Karachi-Islamabad sector and was presented to him by Chairman and CEO PIA, Air Chief Marshal (Retd) Rao Qamar Suleman. Speaking at the event, President and CEO Tameer Microfinance Bank, Nadeem Hussain said, the ticketing service will truly help the people of Pakistan especially those living in far flung areas who previously did not have access to PIA booking offices, will now be able to get their tickets through Easy Paisa merchants.
Moreover, through Mobile Accounts, the purchase of tickets is now available for everyone with the convenience of printing the tickets at home. We appreciate the support extended to us by the PIA management and other stakeholders who have not only made this service possible but have played an integral part towards the vision of Easy Paisa, which is to bring financial inclusion to everyone in the country, he added. Earlier, Director Corporate Services, Irshad Ghani, made a brief introduction about the PIA Marketing Conference 2012 themed `Lead On’ and welcomed the participants.
