SC announces three benches for next week

Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has constituted three benches at the principal seat to hear a number of important cases in the next week starting from today.
The first bench is comprised of Chief Justice, Justice Jawwad S Khawaja and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, the second bench members included Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan, Justice Tariq Parvez and Justice Amir Hani Muslim while the third bench consists of Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk, Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and Justice Sh Azmat Saeed.
It is pertinent to mention here that SC would take up several important cases include petitions against National Assembly Speaker’s ruling in contempt case, Asghar Khan’s case, Dual Nationality of Parliamentarians, Balochistan law and order situation, Supply of Contaminated Water to Rawalpindi from Rawal Dam and Suo Moto action regarding violation of Public Procurement Rules, 2004 in procurement loss of billions of rupees of exchequer caused by National Insurance Company Ltd.
According to cause lists, no application for adjournment through fax will be placed before the Court. If the counsel is unable to appear for any reason the Advocate-on-Record will be required to argue the case.
Besides, no adjournment on any ground will be granted.
IHC CJ orders to place Judgments on Website: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Iqbal Hameed-ue-Rehman has ordered to place all reported judgments on the website of the court for providing relief to the litigants as well lawyers.
An official of IHC, talking to this agency said Chief Justice (CJ) passed the order due to the problems being faced by the lawyers and litigants in getting the judgments of their cases. He said CJ issued six circulares during last week for smooth functioning of the court and for giving relief to the litigants.
