The Rawalpindi Arts Council, in collaboration with The Lasanians, organised a cultural programme to create awareness among children about the culture of Pakistan here on Saturday.
Raja Hanif Advocate, member, Punjab Assembly, was the guest of honor while Resident Director Waqar Ahmed was also present on the occasion. The students of The Lasanians presented the culture of four provinces, including Gilgit Baltistan, in perfectly decorative dresses, said a press release issued here by RAC.
It said that children also performed tableaus and regional cultural dances. In his presidential address, Raja Hanif applauded the efforts of Rawalpindi Arts Council to inculcate spirit of nationalism among the children. He said that it was a great honour for him to watch such a great performance by the students of The Lasanians.
Raja Hanif further said introduction of regional culture is a good form of extra-curriculum activities. He added said that it is obligation for everyone to give preference to nationalism rather than provincialism.
Federal ministers condole with Raza Rabbani: Federal Minister for Hosing and Works Makhdom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat and Federal Minister for Human Resource Development Chaudry Wajahat Hussain have expressed their heartfelt condolences over the sad demise of Parliamentry Committee on National Security (PCNS) Chairman Senator Raza Rabbani’s father.
The senator’s father, Mian Ata Rabbani, passed away at the age of 90 on Saturday, said a press release issued here. The ministers prayed to Almighty Allah to place the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage to the family to bear this loss.
ML-LM demands creation of Hazara province: PML-Likeminded Steering Committee Chairman Salim Saifullah Khan has said that his party would strongly oppose the reference regarding the creation of two provinces in Punjab, if the president of Pakistan did not set up a commission for the creation of Hazara province. He urged President Asif Ali Zardari to send a reference to the NA speaker to form a commission on Hazara province like South Punjab and Bahawalpur provinces, adding this is the voice of the people of Hazara.
