CNG Association and Transporters held a protest against imposition of new taxes on CNG at YMCA here on Saturday.
A large number of transporters along with CNG Association’s spokespersons gathered in front of the Governor House and held a protest demonstration. Police used water canon in order to disperse demonstrators. CNG Association chairman Ghias Pracha said that if CNG tax is not withdrawn, all the CNG stations would be closed from June 6 for unlimited period. While appreciating role of Altaf Hussain, Pracha said that MQM leader should play his role as he has been doing in this regard. Later, protestors shouted slogans against imposition of heavy taxes but heavy contingents of police reached there and used water canon in order to disperse the protestors.
