Pakistani rangers have arrested an Indian trespasser who jumped over the border fence and intruded into Pakistani territory on Monday. A report by Times of India said on Saturday that the Rangers arrested Prasanjeet Singh Sarkar, who is being stated as a labourer at a border construction site near Ganganagar. The newspaper said the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) had written a “strict protest note” to the Rangers demanding his return, besides holding a flag meeting with them over the issue. The newspaper cited its sources as saying that three to four such meetings had taken place to get Sarkar released. It said the Rangers had confirmed the intruder’s arrest, however gave no information on his whereabouts. The paper said the issue would be raised at higher-level bilateral talks if the person was not released in the next few days.
