LAHORE – Advocate General Punjab Khawaja Haris on Monday told Lahore High Court that Punjab government is fulfilling its commitment and accordingly neither any student has been expelled from any college nor fee has been increased. He pointed out that teachers are not fulfilling their part of the commitment and they are still using students for holding violent protests and demonstrations on the roads on the issue of Board of Governors (BOGs) for vested interests.
On this the bench showed displeasure and observed that if the teachers and students did not stop the protests, then they should not expect any thing from the court and they may solve their problems by themselves by way of protests and they should not come to the court for relief. A division bench is hearing a suo motu notice into police torture on protesting teachers and students outside Punjab Assembly building who were recording their protest against introduction of Board of Governors (BOGs) in 26 government colleges.
