Rs 791.5 million allocated for CAAD

The federal government has allocated an amount of Rs 791.500 million in the budget 2012-13 for the Capital Administrative and Development Division (CADD) to execute 14 new and ongoing schemes in education and health sector in the capital.
The Capital Administrative and Development Division is supposed to look after the affairs of educational institutions and health sector of the city.
According to the budget document, Rs 544,165 million have been allocated for cardiac surgery facilities at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences.
Similarly, Rs 600 million have been earmarked for fiscal year 2012-13 for the Safe Blood Transfusion Service Project. The government has also fixed Rs 3.27 million to upgrade Radiology Department at PIMS.
As per the budget document, Rs 10 million would be spent on the construction of Model Welfare Centre, to be established at Humak area while Rs 25.329 million would be spent on the construction of a nursing school at FGSH.
In the budget 2012-13, Rs 39.5 million have been allocated for Prime Minister’s Special Initiative for Management of Dengue Fever and Pollen Allergy in ICT. Similarly, Rs 14.786 million have been earmarked for the construction of a female doctors’ hostel at PIMS, Rs 20.771 million for the construction of a female doctors’ hostel at FGSH and Rs 9.994 million have been allocated for the construction and renovation of nursing hostel at PIMS.
Education Sector: Rs 30 million have been allocated for running 119 computer labs in educational institutions of the city while Rs 25 million have been fixed for strengthening Islamabad Model School, F/7/4.
The government has also earmarked Rs 33.22 million for the establishment of FG Degree College for Women at Bhara Kahu. In addition to this, the government has fixed Rs 4 million for the computerisation of National Braille Press at National Special Education Centre for visually handicapped children and Rs 25.518 have been allocated for the construction of additional academic block and renovation of old building of FG Girls Secondary School Dhoke Gangal.
Moreover, additional Rs 2702.973 million have been allocated for the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) for the Safe City Programme Project. This amount was allocated under the Interior Ministry’s Public Sector Development Programme. Under Interior Ministry Development Programme, Rs 222.421 million have been allocated for Islamabad Development Package. Rs 75.526 million have been allocated for the establishment of National Forensic Science Agency. In addition to this, Rs 47.720 million have been allocated for the construction of four police barracks, each in sectors F/7, F/8, G/9 and G/10 Islamabad.
Under the Interior Ministry development programme, Rs 15 million have been allocated for promotion of improved farming practices in ICT, Rs 15 million for promotion of orchard and vegetable farming and Rs 15 million for the development of Olive Vegetable Nursery in ICT.
Rs 11.572 million have been allocated for the improvement of Milk and Meat Production Strengthening Artificial Insemination Service in Islamabad. The government under the Interior Ministry’s Public Sector Development Project has allocated Rs 0.127 for the provision of additional facilities and construction of tube-wells at NPA Islamabad and Rs 3.208 million for the establishment of fish and fish seed rearing farms at Fish Seed Hatchery, Islamabad.
