All faculty members of Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), including professors and other teaching staff have expressed their deep shock vis-a-vis murder of neurosurgeon Dr Aftab Qureishi. In a joint statement on Thursday they said that repeated incidents of doctors’ murders and kidnapping have created panic among the community engaged in service of ailing patients. One of the main causes of brain drain to overseas sister institutions is also the insecurity of medical professionals, they said.
They demanded of the government to take immediate and necessary action against the culprits besides thorough investigation about the incident itself.
They through their statement also urged the religious scholars and orators preach among people in general the right one man has on another, as ordained under all religions particularly Islam.
There is also urgency to remind people that causing inconvenience for and pain to an innocent human being is also a curse for the perpetrators of the crime is again not acceptable under any religion.
