Federal Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Thursday that talks between security institutions of Pakistan and United States are in progress, adding that the outcome would be announced on appropriate time.
Speaking to newsmen here, the minister defended the stance of National Assembly Speaker for her ruling against Supreme Court decision, saving PM Gilani from being disqualified.
“Speaker Fehmida Mirza’s position is neutral and opposition leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khans has also appreciated the speaker for her neutral conduct,” Kaira said.
About PTI and PML-N’s constitutional petitions in the apex court, Kaira said “courts shouldn’t be involved in political matters…The opposition has tried to use institutions for their political goals.”
He claimed that “PPP government has made big achievements but a media channel is campaigning against the democracy… Criticism should be constructive.”
Kaira said President Zardari attended Chicago summit unconditionally and “put forth Pakistan’s stance in the international moot.”
