Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has said that his party would not allow the rulers to violate the constitution and make a mockery of the apex court’s verdicts.
In a meeting with the party’s joint secretary for Punjab, Rana Sajid Iqbal, and other PML-N workers on Sunday, he said that it was incumbent upon everyone to show respect to judiciary and implement its decisions, but the rulers had made it their habit to violate every law of the land.
Nawaz said the manifesto of the rulers was to indulge in large-scale corruption and victimisation of the masses. He said the country had never witnessed such electricity and gas load shedding, adding that if the rulers had shown some seriousness to address the issues, many of them might have been resolved by now.
Nawaz said that whenever the PML-N came to power, it put the country on the path of development and prosperity, and this task was being done by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Punjab. He said the chief minister had launched a number of welfare schemes in the province and was working day and night to address the problems of the people.
He urged the people to not get depressed by the present state of affairs, said that soon they would get rid of the rulers and an era of development and prosperity would dawn in the country.
Meanwhile, PML-N leader Khawaja Asif announced that his party had decided to file a petition against the National Assembly speaker’s ruling on the issue of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s disqualification after his conviction by the Supreme Court in the contempt of court case. He said the party had decided to file the petition a few days ago.
