Acting President Senator Nayyar Hussain Bukhari has summoned the budget session of the National Assembly on June 1. The upcoming budget 2012-13 will be the fifth and last budget of the PPP and its allies. It will be presented by Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh. A spokesman of the NA’s Secretariat said the session had been summoned in accordance with Article 54 Clause 1 of the constitution. Sources said the finance minister will deliver the budget speech on June 1, and then the session will be suspended for two days. On June 4, a formal debate on the budget session will be started. They said budget 2012-13 is expected to be approved on June 22.
