At least 12 militants were killed when helicopter gunships pounded militant hideouts in areas close the to Pak-Afghan border in Orakzai Agency on Wednesday. Official sources in the political administration of the agency said a number of militants were also wounded in the attack in which four hideouts in Mamozai, Sama bazaar and Manzar Taap areas were completely destroyed. Security sources said over 92 percent of Orakzai Agency had been cleared of militants in the ongoing military operation in the region. They estimated that 507 militants had been killed in the ongoing operation so far.
